Last night at dinner my 19-month-old requested something "now". . . . and I was asking her doctor Monday morning about her speaking abilities WHY? I called to Seth, who was lying down in the bedroom, "Did you hear what your daughter just said?" I'm glad he replied in the affirmative because it meant I wasn't crazy. My daughter really is growing up. I sat there at dinner, watching her eat her soup and drink her juice. She seriously mesmerized me with how she so carefully set down her spoon, picked up her glass, took a few sips, set down her glass, picked up her spoon, ate a few bites, and then repeated the whole thing over and over again. That's just one example of the many ways in which she has become independent.
