Moving, moving, moving

The past two weeks, Sam has starting learning the basics of moving his body on his own. I'm such a proud mama! ;P

First off, it started with moving his head from side to side (doing it for the first time, that I noticed at least, when smiling at me and then turning his head to smile at Hannah--just too sweet!). Next he started leaning his upper body forward, usually with nursing, although he seriously almost did a head plant on my dinner plate last night! (Oh, and he's become upset when just left in his bouncer while we're eating; he wants to be up around the table with us now. I'm eager to borrow a friend's Bumbo seat so that he can join us AND S and I can have both of our hands available for eating.)

He also seems to have learned how to get his hands up to his mouth so that he can suck on them. I appreciate this new skill, as it has a tendency to keep him content for one or two more minutes when he's hungry or tired. He used to do it as a newborn (accidently....) because his hands were used to being by his face 24/7 (in utero).

And either he's just getting more active in general, or he's found that when he kicks his legs in his bouncer (or his bassinet), he can make his toys swing.
