Fun Vids

H holds dance class most mornings that we're home. She's turned on a CD and pretended to be attending dance class since probably before she was even three. Right now, she's into dancing to the songs on our digital piano. (It probably helps that the sitting room is typically clear of toys, unlike our family room!) She's a little out of breath in this video because she's been dancing for a while already. (And, I haven't been consistent with her asthma meds the past few months either.)

After seeing videos online of 6-yr-old Emily Bear playing the piano, H wanted to play it to, so she's added a little piano practicing to her typical morning routine.

Moving, moving, moving

The past two weeks, Sam has starting learning the basics of moving his body on his own. I'm such a proud mama! ;P

First off, it started with moving his head from side to side (doing it for the first time, that I noticed at least, when smiling at me and then turning his head to smile at Hannah--just too sweet!). Next he started leaning his upper body forward, usually with nursing, although he seriously almost did a head plant on my dinner plate last night! (Oh, and he's become upset when just left in his bouncer while we're eating; he wants to be up around the table with us now. I'm eager to borrow a friend's Bumbo seat so that he can join us AND S and I can have both of our hands available for eating.)

He also seems to have learned how to get his hands up to his mouth so that he can suck on them. I appreciate this new skill, as it has a tendency to keep him content for one or two more minutes when he's hungry or tired. He used to do it as a newborn (accidently....) because his hands were used to being by his face 24/7 (in utero).

And either he's just getting more active in general, or he's found that when he kicks his legs in his bouncer (or his bassinet), he can make his toys swing.
