Okay, so I'm super late posting this. Sorry. C'est la vie! (or whatever the phrase is)
While H's home from school, my "putting my toe into the waters of homeschooling" has involved at least having a Theme of the Week. This week, H filled out her entire States workbook and was surprised with a States puzzle that she successfully put together completely on her own, although rightly moaning every now and then, "This is HARD!" I think she stuck with it for about twenty, twenty-five minutes and was quite a champ to keep going despite her mother's refusal to help her. (Okay, so maybe I sorted some of the eastern coast states from the mid-west states to help keep her going, but ya know.)
We just enjoyed a nice day at home.
It was GREAT.
Lil'S likes to read books to N. Unfortunately, it usually requires that I save N from being whacked with the corner of a book, but at least Lil'S is trying to show love!
Oh, how I love watermelon!!!
This was the first we've bought this season, and it was the golden melon that you wait for and don't always find each summer! Oh, it was sooo gooooooood!
BBQ Chicken and watermelon and family.
Okay, it's officially 4th of July.
Lil'S was more interested in playing with his cars than eating watermelon. That's okay. He's forgiven. He's only two, you know.
;)
Pretty girl loves it too. Good for her!
Yay, for the 4th of July!!!
We've finally figured out how to celebrate with kids who have super early bedtimes and would probably be terrified by the noise of a real firework show: Watch 'em on Youtube!
"Hey, that's like the statue in my states book!" H announced upon seeing a copy of the hand of the Statue of Liberty. We were watching last year's Macy's Fireworks.
H wasn't content to sit. She just had to dance to the music accompanying the fireworks.
